Lord of the Rings Online Review

Over the past six years we've fallen in and out of love with Lord of the Rings Online enough times to realize that Turbine knows what they're doing with Tolkien's fantasy universe. That's a statement that would make Captain Obvious blush, but it's true. While other MMORPGs have sprung up and quickly died, LOTRO has managed to remain popular enough for Turbine to evolve their work with worthwhile additions like mounted combat, new locations ripped right out of Tolkien's books and enough visual and tonal variety in their game world to successfully communicate the other worldly scope this fantasy fiction demands. Wildstar - Hands On

We're not sure what's going on with MMORPG developers at the moment, but it seems as though every studio is falling over themselves declaring that their work, and only their work, will fix this apparently struggling genre. Continue reading

The War Z Review

Let’s get this out of the way right now... The War Z is an awful lot like the cult mod hit for ARMA II, Day Z. They both have zombies, they’re both interactive sandboxes, and they both bring out the absolute worst in gaming kind. In both experiences there’s little to do other than scrounge around a gigantic map for weapons, supplies and equipment, with only meandering moron zombies and sadistic fellow players to provide entertainment. Scarecrow Samurai Review

Scarecrow Samurai is set in a world where history and mythology are merged together. It encompasses time when food in Japan was hard to obtain, and had to be defended with sword and magic. The time when people, demons and animals took equal part in world affairs. The main character is a mysterious creature, demon-protector by nature, committed to honor the code of both scarecrows and samurais, who puts himself in service of the Kakashi clan. Continue reading
